What is Immortality but a Curse of Eternal Damnation

Funny... another vampire movie is coming out this november. And boy, aren't a lot of people getting into the hype.

Admittedly, I'm a huge vampire fan. If I were to become a creature of darknes, I would definitely want to be a vampire. I mean, who wouldn't want to choose to become a vampire? Of all dark creatures, there isn't any as sophisticated, as elegant, as organized, and as damn good-looking as vampires. I dunno, maybe it's a requirement or something. You have to be so damn good-looking before you can become a vampire.

Imagine having strengths of tens or even hundreds or even thousands of men. Imagine having eternal youth, not aging, remaining the same look you have when you cross the path to darkness. And most of all, imagine having to live... forever.

Forever... eternity... whoa... seems like a long time, right? Well, duh... To be perfectly honest, when I was like on my teens, I always wanted to have immortality. If I could be given one wish, I would wish for eternal life. That was way long ago. Not anymore. As I grew older, as I mature, I came to realize the downside of immotality. Do you know what that downside is? Simple enough, it's having to see all your loved ones die, one after another. You will live through all the pain and you will experience all the sufferings as time passes, as everyone you hold dear leaves this world... and you will forever be... alone.

When someone you love left you for another person, you feel your heart is broken. What more to see your loved ones die? When someone you love dies, you feel your whole heart, mind, and soul are being torn into millions of pieces. Would you endure it forever?

A lot of people with twisted minds think of immortality as a gift, a privilege given to show supremacy. But I see immortality as a curse... a curse of eternal damnation. You will see the end of the world, the end of life, the end of every existence. You will have to endure all the hardships, all the sufferings, all the pain. And when you are so damn tired of life... when you are so damn weary of living... when you realize that there is nothing else left for you to do, nothing left for you to know, nothing left for you to anticipate... you have no way to escape. There is no way for you to be free... free from all that torments you... free from all that drives you mad... free from all that let's you enjoy life.

Because you don't have the most important thing given to life... because you don't have the most precious partner of life... because you don't have the beacon of true freedom... DEATH.
